From a bustling Sydney to a quiet Launceston.
It was a breeze to past the Launceston custom, pick up our luggage and time to pick up our car which will accompany us for 7 days in Tasmania! We just love this type of leisure holidays where we take things at our stride!

Our first lunch stop after collecting the Golf. Unfortunately, the cafe
in the vineyard has closed for lunch but he has recommended his friend's
cafe down the road.
To our pleasant surprise, the Ilk cafe food was fantastic! They served the best salad ever! The presentation of the food was so pleasing!
Tamar Valley Resort Grindelwald
There are many small villages in Tasmania. Tamar Valey Resort Grindelwald somhow modelled after Swiss style of living. The look and feel of this place was really different when I visited it more than 10 years ago. Where's all the excitement now?
There are hardly any souls walking around this little village. We just walked around and take some photos. The only excitement we have was to spot a really cute wild bunny running around the compound!
It's was time to check into our hotel in Launceston! The moment I set eyes on Hotel Charles, it looked like a hospital to me! I was not really wrong! As CK drove up to the carpark, I noticed there's a Heart Center on the opposite wing!
This is also a contemporary hotel. Not as impressive as Meriton Apartment but it is clean and big.
In fact, as we walked along the almost empty Charles Street to search for dinner, we noticed the quaint little buildings are either used for dental, surgery or even veterinary services! (See above buildings)
Our first chinese dinner in Launceston in Canton restaurant! Yes, after the fourth day, kinda craving for it. The "short soup" aka Wanton soup (they also have "long soup" which we did not attempt to order) was simply delicious! The scallops cum vegetables dish was one of our favourite chinese dish too!
