Worst still, "Chincillas" will probably be the next "favoured" animal as their mandarin name is "龙猫", "龙" meaning "Dragon" in English. How could people buy pets related to such silly association ? Animals are not goods that can be discarded when not needed, they feel pain, fear, need food, water and shelter just like us !
We have two surviving Chincillas now. Our oldest chincilla, Rooky, is 12 years old and Minnie is 10 years old now. For a rodent, Chincilla is considered a long-life pet and it really takes commitment and understanding of this lovely creature.
Therefore, please consider twice, if not thrice, before buying a Chincilla just because it is Dragon year !
